Eligibility Requirements

This course leads to an international qualification that allows graduates to practice independently with psychometric tests. Decisions made using such tests impact people's lives. In view of this, we take both our training and assessment very seriously to ensure full competence. These are our eligibility requirements to join this course:

  • Able to understand spoken and written English and to communicate verbally in English.
  • Computer with stable internet connection, microphone and headset.
  • Available for the full 6 days of training (no other commitments); able to complete pre-course work independently before course; able to complete follow-up assessments without support within 1 month of end of course.
  • Motivation to learn about psychometrics at work, not just looking to gain a certificate! This is an intensive professional course and requires active commitment and determination.
  • This course is not suitable for those who are unable to be fully committed to the course for the pre-course work and for the 6 training days, or for those who have difficulty managing assignments set to them. Please do not register for the course if you are unable to commit to this requirement 😊.

Course Schedule, After-class Work & Possible Extra Sessions

Kindly note that we will adhere to strict start times as per above. However, our finish times are a guide. We may finish a little earlier or somewhat later depending on the needs of participants and how the Q&A sessions go. We may also add an extra session if it is deemed important for learning, so please try to keep your diary flexible over the days of the course, the weekend between the training days, and the day following the course in case we need to make up any time. Finally, please be advised that on each day of the course, there will be work to do after the main teaching component (completion of workbook assessment and related requirements). Kindly allow for at least an extra hour each day for this.

Assessment for the BPS Qualification

Those who wish to be assessed for the BPS Level 1 & 2 qualification are given a workbook to complete for each Level of the course. This is a formal assessment of competence for the British Psychological Society. The workbook must be completed to the required standard. We strongly encourage students to complete as much of the workbook as possible DURING the course so that any questions or gaps in understanding can be addressed. After the course, there is a one-month period for completion of the entire assessment portfolio. This is known as a formal assessment period and so no support is offered during this time.

Final Work Portfolio Deadline

The deadline for the submission of all assessed work for those wishing to be assessed for the BPS qualification(s) is ONE MONTH after the final day of the taught course (on the same day of the month). So, if a course finishes on 23 March, the portfolio will be due by 23 April. For those undertaking BPS Level 2 Personality, there is a second deadline for some final work which is one month after we have notified you that your work has been assessed. For example, if you submit your work on 23 April and we give you feedback on 2 May, you will have until 2 June to complete the final work. In all cases, you may submit early. A fee applies for late work.
